Give it a try and you might find it to be useful. Overall, SlimCleaner is a nice addition ontop of what CCleaner already offers. Same as the uninstaller section, where you can view how well each application’s rating in the community. Again, here you can remove any application from startup to speed up the process. It is one of the longest-established system cleaners, first launched in 2004. The optimize tab, is more like the msconfig in a prettier UI. CCleaner ( / siklinr /, originally Crap Cleaner ), 6 developed by Piriform Software, is a utility used to clean potentially unwanted files and invalid Windows Registry entries from a computer. Our crowd-sourced lists contains more than 100 apps similar to. But it shows you more on each program’s cache, file size, file numbers. The best SlimCleaner alternatives are BleachBit, Bulk Crap Uninstaller and CCleaner. SlimCleaner, of course the main feature is to clean out the garbage files, like CCleaner you can first analyze how large the files will be before deleting those cache files. So for people that doesn’t have a lot knowledge about computers this is an easy way to identify which application that are crapware, unnecessary or can be deleted. It also gives you a visual metric on the particular software how well it rates amount it’s community, it also show user a brief blur (more info) of the description of the software. It not only launch the uninstaller for any installed applications. SlimCleaner est un logiciel de maintenance et doptimisation du PC dvelopp pour le systme dexploitation Windows par lditeur de logiciels SlimWare. The most neat feature that I found will be useful for none tech users to maintain their computer is the uninstaller section. It has almost all the features CCleaner offers, and it does more. There are lighter utilities that can clean the system garbage files, if that’s not enough, you should try the SlimCleaner. CCleaner is probably the most popular PC maintenance tool out there.

I just had a thought, but is it possible to set up Region3’s without using parts? Perhaps I could do that and generate Region3’s in a formulated manner (so it’s the same every time) between two points on the corners of the map and assign values to those Region3’s, and then whenever you’re trying to place objects or do certain things within a Region3 it’ll just compare that to a set of saved data that gets pulled from a datastore. I think if there is no other option besides a parts-based chunk-claiming system then I’ll definitely have to experiment with it and see how ROBLOX’s engine can handle it and if I’ll need to modify the scope of my game at all. I have no clue if I can post game links on this forum, but if you’d like to see a very brief and rudimentary demonstration you can go to my profile, go to my main group, and then go to the “Lobby / Map” game. We’re essentially replicating a world map and the player would be able to travel between persistent regions of the world. The scope for our game and community is much larger than just that. We’re doing something similar to this, but in a different way. I know this probably sounds like a complicated idea, so ask any questions you may have and I’ll try to clarify on my goals here. I’m not necessarily asking for code, but just wondering if something like this would be realistically possible with ROBLOX’s engine, and for some pointers in the right direction about how to implement such an idea if possible. I’ll also need to access the plots in real time, as well, to see if you have faction permissions to build in that claim.īeing able to visualize the plots would be valuable too, for both claiming those plots as well as seeing both your own and other faction’s claims. I’m interesting in knowing if there is a way I could somehow generate plots of land and be able to, when saving persistent data, to see what buildings are within that region, so I can save them. I don’t want to use individual parts to create plots if I don’t have to… the realms / maps I will be using in this project will be very large and I do not think doing that would realistically be feasible for my time. For the record, I am building a persistent medieval world, and land claiming would work similar to something like the Towny plugin on Minecraft, if you’re familiar. You’ll realistically be able to build anywhere on the map, but only the stuff in claimed plots will be saved / persistent. I want a player, such as a faction leader, to be able to claim chunks of land that they can build on. I’ve been popping in every now and then for pointers on some things, but I am about to begin work on a major part of my game, which is claiming lands. Thanks to some useful criteria, it is a lot easier to test 5 distros as compared to 20 distros. Finally, revert the virtual machine back to the snapshot (no OS installed) and repeat for the next distro. Then, measure the results at an idle state of the running distro. Install a distro to the virtual machine using the default settings whenever possible (avoiding the option to install additional drivers and media codecs). Create a virtual machine with no operating system installed and take a snapshot. The procedure for this experiment is quite simple. However, it does highlight the lack of modern distros that are lightweight and based on something other than Ubuntu. Interestingly enough, all of the qualifying distros are based on Ubuntu (although this was not the intention). The Shortened List of ContendersĪfter applying the criteria above to the list of contenders, the list was refined as follows. I didn’t want to run into a short-lived distro and repeat my past experience with Antergos. So, a track record of routine and regular updates is preferred since it builds more confidence in sticking with the distro for a longer period of time. I don’t want to end up with a distro that is a one-hit wonder or has a short run. Simply being “modern” isn’t quite enough. A “modern” distro, as defined for this experiment, is one that has adopted systemd and has a kernel version that is greater than or equal or to the last 2 major LTS kernels (5.10 and 5.4). It can be a very vague term and interpreted as meaning different things. For my own needs, I wanted a distro that is: (1) modern and (2) updated regularly. Some qualifying criteria would definitely help in pairing down this list. With a list this long, it is difficult and impractical to download the ISO and perform a test run for each and every distro. The values provided for the “RAM” and “Disk Space” columns are the preferred/recommended system requirement values (not the minimum system requirement values). Whenever possible, the most recent stable release of each distro was chosen. The distros which were recommended most commonly have been compiled into a list of contenders as shown below. Needless to say, the number of returned results was staggering. So, I began the online search and found many articles recommending copious distros which claim to check the boxes for the aforementioned requirements. It would have to be good enough to deploy as a daily-driver on my main machine. In the end, only 1 would be chosen as the lightweight Linux distribution of choice. As a Linux user, I was recently in search of a Linux distribution (distro) that is lightweight and runs efficiently on a virtual machine or a physical machine using minimal resources. The young are suckled for ten weeks, after which the mother has to find food for the young. When ready to give birth, females make a den under a boulder or in a hollow tree. Although they prefer dry environments, they are also common near rivers, where food is easier to find. They prefer rocky areas, such as canyons, but also occupy a range of lowland habitats, including deserts, woodland and shrubland. They are most commonly found in highland forests. Ring-tailed cats are found from the western United States to southern Mexico. Ringtails reach sexual maturity in both sexes near 10 months of age.Their agile nature means that North American ringtails occur both in forests and also more arid rocky areas, where they can also move around easily. Mom sometimes allows the father to play with with the young as they grow older. The female is mainly responsible for care, and forages with her young beginning when they are about two months old. The young can take solid food at 30 to 40 days of age and are weaned at about 10 weeks. Newborns are altricial (helpless and needing care), and they don’t open their eyes until around one month of age. Births usually occur in May or June, with a litter size ranging from one to four.įemales choose a den in a rock crevice, boulder pile, or tree hollow, in which they bear their young. The gestation period ranges from 51 to 54 days. Female ringtails experience a single estrous cycle in a season, usually mating from February to May. Not a lot is known about the ringtail’s mating habits, as they have not been observed to much extent. During the mating season, ringtails increase their marking activity to attract a mate and scare off competitors of the same sex. They scent mark their home range territory by rubbing urine on the ground and on raised objects. Scent seems to be as important as vocalizations for communication for ringtails. Adults can emit an explosive bark, a piercing scream, and a long, high-pitched call. Ringtails use a variety of vocalizations to get their point across. Rapid, headfirst, vertical descents are accomplished by rotating the hind foot 180 degrees, allowing the pads of the feet and the claws to retain contact with the surface.Ī lot to say. They can also climb in small crevices by pressing all four feet on one wall and their back against the other. They are excellent climbers, with several behavioral and physical adaptations: ringtails can maneuver along cliffs and ledges by ricocheting from wall to wall. Ringtails prefer habitats with rocky outcroppings, canyons, or talus slopes and can be found in semi-arid country, deserts, chaparral, oak woodlands, pinyon pine woodlands, juniper woodlands, and montane conifer forests. Ringtails’ feet sport short, straight, semi-retractable claws and digital foot pads surrounded by hair, except for the first digits. The body is buff to dark brown in color with white underparts and a well-defined black and white striped tail. The ringtail measures 12 to 18 inches (30 to 46 centimeters) long with a tail of about the same length, and weighs less than 3 pounds (1.4 kilograms). The eyes are large and black, each surrounded by a patch of light fur. Slimmer than a house cat but more robust than a weasel, the ringtail also somewhat resembles a small fox. Its cat-like appearance and famed mouse-hunting skills have earned it several common names, including ring-tail cat, civet cat, and miner’s cat (it reportedly kept gold miners’ quarters vermin-free). Drat, I'm not a cat! Even though this eye-catching omnivore sports a few vaguely feline characteristics such as pointy ears, a sleek body, and a fluffy tail, the ringtail is really a member of the raccoon family. Other key features include a no-hassle firewall, a simple spam filter, password management, file shredding, a full-powered parental control system, and more. The core antivirus technology consistently earns perfect and near-perfect scores from independent testing labs, and its ransomware-specific protection aced our tests. Excellent protection against dangerous and fraudulent websitesīitdefender’s standalone antivirus packs in more features than some self-proclaimed suites, and Bitdefender Internet Security piles on even more. This is a good choice for anyone who wants a time-tested suite that covers all the bases, but it's especially good for those who wisely opt to protect their connections with a VPN. Norton security programs have been around for decades, and the brand has plenty of fans. And the 50GB of online storage for your backups is a nice bonus. That’s a rarity many other suites make you pay extra to remove limits from their included VPN components. It also gets you five full licenses for Norton’s VPN. Your subscription lets you protect up to five devices running Windows, macOS, Android, or iOS. As a standalone, the parental control system is an Editors’ Choice. This suite includes a robust, intelligent firewall, a basic password manager, and a local spam filter, as well as a dark web monitoring system to warn if your private data is exposed. And that’s some powerful protection-the independent labs we follow frequently give Norton perfect to near-perfect scores. As long as you choose auto-renewal, you’ve got a guarantee Norton support will handle any malware that gets past the app’s protection. Norton 360 Deluxe makes that promise explicit. When you buy a security suite, there’s an implied promise it will keep you safe. If you want more details on the torture tests we perform on every suite we review, please read the full explanation of how we test security software. This article briefly mentions the many tests we use to evaluate security suites and determine which are the best. We're sharing the top suites we've tested here, along with what makes them unique and how they can work for you. Just which security solution should you choose? We’ve reviewed nearly 40 suites and pulled together the best, from simple entry-level suites to cross-platform multi-device lollapaloozas. Some security companies add only the most essential components to create a suite, while others rope in a huge variety of security elements. Your computer will thank you-your wallet, too. Don’t let this happen to you! Instead of piecing together your security, find a security suite that contains all the features you need in a single program. Pretty soon you have 17 different apps protecting your security and privacy, but your computer is sluggish and your wallet is empty. And when your child is traumatized by reaching a porn site instead of cartoons, you realize parental control might be a good idea. Your security-minded friend points out that “password” is a bad password, which leads you to add a password manager. You realize that your antivirus doesn’t protect data when it leaves your computer, so you add a VPN app.
